Open Letter to the Queens and Princesses of Africa: You are the most beautiful without the fake hair and its extras
To my queens and princesses of the land. TiHosikazi in XiTsonga, iKumkanikazi in isiXhosa, Nkosazana in isiZulu, vhaKololo nga TshiVenda, ba humekgadi and di gadi tsa ga moshate in Sepedi, I speak to you black woman. It is your outward beauty that makes me stand here. You are beautiful.
A pastor once said if we,
as women spent as much time, money and energy on our character as we do making
sure we look good, there would be a huge difference.
A
lot of us women worship God (the one written about in the bible) and we love to
confess that we are wonderfully and fearfully created in the image of God, or
that we can do all things through Christ. If you are wonderfully and fearfully
made, why do you prefer to have fake hair over your natural God-given hair? If
you can do all things through Christ, why don’t you walk as proudly as you do with
your fake hair, fake nails, fake eyelashes, make-up, with your natural look?
There
is nothing wrong with looking good, but there is everything wrong with trying
to change how God (YAH, MODIMO, XIKWEMBU) made you. Many of us run to hair shops
whenever we hear that there is hair from Brazil, India, Peru, etc. on discount.
Where that hair comes from really doesn’t matter. What remains is that, it is
DEAD as long as it is not growing out of your scalp. It being attached to your hair, won't restore it to its alive state.
You
say you bought it, thus making it yours, however, you are taking someone else’s
hair passing it as you own ignoring your own kinks. Creation, that is done
explicitly by YAH, cannot be bought. Your natural hair and look is priceless!
The bible describes your hair as a crown.
Why are you hiding your CROWN? The bible says, thy shall not covet.
Basically, don’t lust after other peoples things. You wanting to have that
Indian, Brazilian hair is covetous behaviour.
A
worldwide standard of beauty has been set, and sadly it is a European standard.
And this standard has been made to be a one size fits all. You are beautiful with
your curves, you are beautiful with you afro, you are beautiful with those big
lips and big nose. YOU…ARE…BEAUTIFUL.
Please
understand, I am not against you putting on a weave, I am against you only
seeing yourself as beautiful with that fake hair and everything else that comes
with it. It is unfortunate that the extras that we put on actually make us look
beautiful. Because when we don’t have them we can’t look at ourselves in the
mirror and tell ourselves that we are beautiful. In essence, we hate ourselves.
We hate the way YAH made us.
I’ve
asked around and many ladies say that they wear make-up to enhance their
features. Now my question to you is who told you that your features need
enhancing in the first place? Who told you that you are ugly without make-up? Who
has taught us to hate how MODIMO created us?
As
women we need to learn and know for ourselves what the LOVE of YAH is. Child of
Israel, child of YAH, learn how to love yourself as YAH created you. Romans 5:8
says that we know that the MESSIAH (JESUS CHRIST) loves us because he died for
us on the cross…while we were still sinners. Learn for yourself what the LOVE
OF YAH is cause there is a huge difference between the love in the world and
the love of GOD. Allow the MOST HIGH to teach you what true love is because
only then will you be able to walk proudly as the queen or princess you truly
are.
Ladies,
know thyself, embrace thyself, love thyself, love thyself, love thyself.
Afterall you are wonderfully and fearfully made.
SELAH…
