I say and will always say that Jesus is and was a black
man because the bible says so. Despite the way Revelation 3 describes him as
having hair like wool and feet like brass. It goes deeper than that. A lot more
things tell me that he was a black man. Let me explain:
Jesus is referenced as the son of King David in Matthew.
And his Genealogy includes David somewhere along the line. This means that
David was his ancestor and we know that king David was an Israelite from the tribe
of Judah. Judah was one of the sons of Jacob (later known as Israel, Genesis
35).
When you read Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy you will notice that many of the things that the children of Israel did to worship God are actually things that we as black people (the bantu man) call culture. It is just unfortunate that we’ve twisted these things today and they aren’t done for God but for other reasons.
Reason 1: Many times in the books I’ve mentioned above
the Israelites offer sacrifices to God for different reasons (sin, atonement,
burnt, grain, etc.). For each sacrifice they had to bring a bull, goat or
sheep. Today, we black people offer sacrifices of a cow or goat to our
ancestors.
Reason 2: Exodus 39 speaks of how a priest should dress
and if you pay attention. It speaks of blue, white, yellow, even purple linen
garments. If you look around you will see that it is the indigenous churches of
South Africa (Zion and Apostolic) that dress in these colours. Black people.
Reason 3: Moses had a staff, and he used it quite a few
times. He also took off his shoes when he was in the presence of GOD (Exodus 3).
Today it is the people in the Zion church that carry staffs (izikhali in Zulu)
and take off their shoes in church. Where have you ever seen a white person
carrying a staff to church and taking off his shoes IN CHURCH? Another thing,
Leviticus and 1st Corinthians makes reference to women wearing head scarfs.
And it is mostly people in the black community that do this, especially when
they are praying. Where have you ever seen a white woman praying with a head
scarf…IN CHURCH?
Reason 4: The Israelites when they were mourning a death
of a family member, they would shave their hair or scar their foreheads. Now
today, who does this when a family member dies? Scarring of the face is similar
to ‘uguxaba’ in the Zulu culture. Also when someone dies in the black community
there usually is a ceremony (isiwasho in Zulu) to ‘remove the dark cloud of
death’. In the bible God said that people who have lost their family members
should do this as they were unclean, after this had been done they would be
declared clean. And if I’m not mistaken, isiwasho means to clean.
Reason 5: Leviticus and Numbers talks about laws for
cleansing leprosy. One of the ways was to offer a sacrifice and they had to put
on ropes that were either red or green. Today these ropes are worn by the bantu
man for different reasons and they are usually found at people who call
themselves prophets or sangomas. We wear these ropes either around our waists,
wrists and at times our necks.
There are so many reasons I can give as reference to my
claim. Small things like, holy water, lobola, pouring chicken blood on you,
etc. are also found in the bible.
If after all that I’ve said you still believe he was
neither black nor white, you are ignorant and stubborn.
