Usain Bolt to coach Joburg youngsters in sprinting

Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, will spend Monday, 29 January, at the Roodepoort Athletics Stadium coaching and motivating Joburg youngsters.

The charismatic Jamaican who holds both 100 and 200 metres world records, will be taking part in the second Puma School of Speed National Series hosted jointly by the City of Johannesburg and the School of Speed South Africa.

The series is intended to identify and develop talent among the 14 and 19-year olds in athletics.

Programme:

  • 11:30- 15:12: Coaching Clinics
  • 17:30- 19:00: Puma School of Speed
  • 19:10- 21:10: Speed Finals
  • 21:15- 21:20: Prize Giving


The programme will include athletics coaching clinics that will be attended by 3000 athletes from various schools and clubs in Johannesburg. This will be followed by a track and field programme which will see 1000 athletes competing in various categories. The programme will culminate with a price giving ceremony in the evening.
